" The weekly lessons have been led by Xiao Fu of the Yoku
Choir who has enthused, entertained and educated the children during the hour
long sessions. Right from the start, the children were encouraged to sing,
either as a group or individually, and to perform in front of their peers –
quite daunting for many of them.
In addition, they have learnt
about the Chinese flag, music, masks, dances, traditional gifts and about the
origins of Chinese characters (language). Each week, the children have eagerly
anticipated the lessons which give an insight into some aspects of the culture
of China.
